First Ever Schools Gymnastics Competition at Phoenix Gym Club
A massive well done to all of our Gymnastics team members who took part in the first ever Schools Gymnastics competition at Phoenix Gym club today. We had placings for Kacey (1st), Jess (3rd) and Maia (5th) in Advanced+, Clara (3rd) and Holly (5th) in the Advanced category and Charlotte (4th) in Intermediate. All 10 of the girls tried their very best and did an amazing job supporting each other throughout.
Preparations are continuing for the Phoenix Gymnastics competition on Monday. Remember to practice over the weekend, the routines are on the Phoenix Facebook page.
County Primary Schools Cross Country Final
Well done Crawford and Jess for running so well today at the County Primary Schools Cross Country Final in Newquay. The fastest children from all over Cornwall competed today.. and they were quick! They worked hard to get there, qualifying in both the cluster and area finals, so it was brilliant to see them end the season well!
Great effort from the YR5/6 footballers yesterday at the Cluster qualifiers. With one win, one draw and one loss, they secured a medal as joint runners up.

A PE Lesson with Wheal Busy
A brilliant PE lesson today in Wheal Busy. Not only were there great gymnastic skills on show but more importantly the children showed their growth mindset by challenging themselves and persevering to achieve things they thought they couldn't do. Mr Proctor and Mrs Wheeler were also impressed with the support, encouragement and coaching they gave each other. Well done everyone.
Cross Country Area Finals
The Cross-Country team had a fantastic time at the Area Finals this afternoon, hosted by Pool Academy. All of our runners, who previously qualified for this race at the Redruth Schools tournament in November, ran exceptionally well. Considering that each of them were racing against close to 80 of the fastest runners in their year group, they handled the pressure brilliantly and most importantly, had lots of fun. They deserve to put their feet up tonight! A write up will follow in this week's Treleigh News
14 children from Key Stage 1 headed across to Redruth School this afternoon to take part in a multi-skills event. For many, it was their first time representing Treleigh but they were all fantastic and had a great time! Thank you to Mrs. Roscorla and Mrs. Barton for taking them and to the parents for their great support
Here is video 1 of 3 of some of our children from Years 1 and 2 who have been working hard at their movement sequence in gymnastics. They have used strength, flexibility, coordination and timing. It’s not perfect but we are proud of their efforts and progress!
