The Christian Creation Story

Wheal Harmony have been learning about the Christian creation story. Today we painted, drew, cut and retold the creation story

Learning about the Special Features of the Church

Wheal Harmony went over to St. Stephen’s church this afternoon to learn about the special features of the church. They had a great time learning about the individual areas/artefacts inside.

Combining RE and Art
Inspired by the celebrations of many different religions and the work on their focus artist, Faith Bebbingtom, Wheal Bunnie created artwork today for RE day. The finished pieces included a word of their choice to define religion and the reasoning for different celebrations. This also allowed the children to explore manipulating materials into different shapes.

RE Day

RE day produced some amazing discussions and pieces of work.

Here are just a few examples.

Wheal Rose made palms and sang Hosanna to re-enact the triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

Puja Worship

Wheal Busy and Wheal Bunnie learnt about Puja worship in their R.E. lesson today. They can tell you how the Hindus prepare for Puja and prayer.

Christingle Service at St. Stephens Church

Well done to all the Key Stage 1 children who took part in our Christingle service at St. Stephens Church today. Reverend Bush shared the meaning behind the Christingle celebration and led us all in prayer. The children all behaved impeccably! Video clips of the service will be shortly uploaded to Class Dojo pages. Well done everyone.

KS1 Lesson with Father Casper

Fr. Casper came to teach all the KS1 pupils about Advent and what it means to Christians. This rounded off our unit 'Why is Christmas important to Christians.'

Budding Artists

Work in progress…the budding artists in Wheal Plenty are using the Hindu story, ‘The man in the well’ as inspiration for their works of art.

Years 3 and 4 have been learning about what the bible teaches about the Trinity.

Trinity and why it is important to Christians

Wheal Kitty are learning about the Trinity and why it is important to Christians.  We learnt about prayer and the special blessing Paul sent to the Corinthians.  We looked up the verse in the Bible and then we wrote our own blessings.

What is Braham?

Wheal Raven discussed in groups what Brahman was by looking at pictures and symbols.

KS2 Harvest Festival

Wheal Fortune used clay to make examples of their own gods based on Hindu gods.

Our Guest Speaker

All of years 1 and 2 were very privileged to have a guest speaker in our assembly today talking about the religion that her family follows.
