Guidance for schools, colleges and local authorities on maintaining educational provision
Latest Updates Regarding the Coronavirus
The Government Definition of who qualifies as a ‘Key Worker!
Finally, the government definition of who qualifies as a ‘Key Worker’ during the COVID-19 outbreak has been confirmed, as below. Please, please remember that school provision must only be requested if you fall into one of these categories and:
1. You are a single parent Key Worker with no safe and suitable childcare arrangements in-place.
2. Both parents are Key Workers and working shifts overlap.
3. At least one parent is a Key Worker, you have NO safe childcare arrangements in place through family/friends and you have major concerns regarding financial security.
Schools too need to respond to Public Health England’s advice regarding social distancing and, whilst we will provide adequate staffing to ensure this, this does become increasingly challenging if parents do not do everything within their powers to support. Should applications represent more than 20% of our school population, we may have to prioritise those most in need.
If you feel that you meet the above criteria, please make telephone contact with the office as soon as possible where requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We also request that all phone contact be kept to a minimum as we anticipate a busy time ahead.
Please share this with any parents who you know are not on Facebook as a letter will not be coming home tonight due to the need to make arrangements throughout the day. This will, however, be uploaded on to the school website in due course.
Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time for us all.
