Staying Safe Online

Today Year 5 and 6 had a visit from our local police officers to deliver guidance on staying safe online. With Christmas just past us, we were aware that many of our children have new devices, including mobile phones, and this session provided awareness of the legalities surrounding APP use and online presence. Thank you to Camborne, Pool and Redruth Police for supporting Treleigh in our drive to keep all our children safe.

The Masked British Value
Today year 4 showcased Treleigh’s newest quiz “The Masked British Value”. In this incredible show they taught Key Stage 2 and their parents more about the 5 British Values.
Everyone put in their best performance and challenged themselves to dance, act and entertain. All the Year 4 staff are very proud of them and the hard work they have put into this outstanding year group assembly.

The Junior Life Skills event at Tolvaddon Fire Station

The Year 5s had a fantastic morning at the Junior Life Skills event at Tolvaddon Fire Station. They learnt some amazing life skills from the use of a defibrillator (including CPR) through to train safety awareness.

The First Great Treleigh Litter Pick
On behalf of all Year 3 & Wheal Busy we would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined in the first Great Treleigh Litter Pick. It was a fantastic success with ten bags of litter collected in just four days. The children would love to do it again so watch this space!
Have a great half term everyone!

Wheal Busy Help to Plant the 100 Trees

On Friday, Wheal Busy learned about the requirements of plants for growth then put their learning into practise by helping plant the 100 trees that are going on the field. They made sure the trees have - air, light, warmth, water, nutrients and room to grow. Working in teams, 13 trees were planted and everyone ended the week how they started on the beach, by being ManKIND.

Gardening Club
It was lovely to welcome old and new members to gardening club today. We have started the new year thinking about our curriculum enquiry ManKIND? We scattered and planted bird seed so it can grow into grasses that produce seeds that the birds can continually collect for themselves - rather than relying on us to feed them. We are experimenting to see if the scattered or planted seed grows best. What’s your prediction?
Whilst we were out and about in the school grounds it was exciting to see our bulbs growing. Spring has not quite sprung but it’s trying!
